Recently, I had the opportunity to help a client organize his daughter’s closet. Their family is working with what they already have on hand but has plans to invest in a full closet system in the next 12-18 months.
By reimagining the space and introducing clever storage hacks, we were able to create a system that keeps things accessible and orderly, even in a space bursting with personality.
Abbreviated Client Intake Notes
Space
- Closet
- 70” wide by 25” deep and 8’ tall
- Shelf depth is 11″
Goal
- Create a functional and tidy closet for his daughter that meets her current needs while leaving room for future upgrades.
NOTES
- AJ’s daughter’s closet is overflowing with toys, clothes, and books, all competing for limited space.
- She adores her books, toys, and Disney costumes/dresses, but many items go untouched, such as books out of reach, baby books, clothes that no longer fit, puzzles, and dirty laundry.
- Underutilized areas include the top of the toy chest and the space in the middle between the two closet doors.
